Questions about example sentences with, and the definition and usage of "Potter"

A: the first one suggests the sisters met recently after being apart for several years. the second one suggests the sisters have been apart for several years and have not met recently.
hadn't vs haven't. hadn't = past tense but not ongoing. haven't = past tense still ongoing.

A: "The Sword of Godric Gryffindor" is a magical object. No matter where the Sword happens to be at the time, it will appear in the Sorting Hat when a true member of Gryffindor house is in need of it. It happens only when they are in the danger and still show real bravery, like Harry and Neville did.

Back in the Chamber Of Secrets, when Harry is in danger, the Sword turns up with Fawkes, Dumbledore's Phoenix, and helps him kill Basilisk, the serpent.
At this point, it seems that the Sword takes in the Basilisk's venom and gains the power to destroy Horcruxes.

Fawkes brings it in the Sorting Hat... the Sword seems to live there : ) but Voldemort seems to have forgotten the Sorting Hat is dangerous when Neville wears it.

I had forgotten about the Basilisk venom.

Dumbledore makes a replica of The Sword of Godric Gryfindor and orders Snape to store it in Bellatrix Lestrange's vault, and hides the real one in his office. Harry is to know for what purpose he should use it; to destroy Horcruxes.

My question is:
– Why did Dumbledore try to give the Sword to Harry in his will (it failed though), when it is not the right time for Harry to have it. Was it the replica? –

I think "love of Lily" sounds more like a simple descriptive noun phrase. "Love for Lily" means the same but seems to emphasise the yearning Snape feels. 😃🎶

A: In the Harry Potter world, how old will a wizard or witch live to be, barring accidents or murder?  
This may be a pointless question, but when I follow the story I'm often confused like "who's relative is who?"

Take Bathilda Bagshot: She is a great aunt of Grindelwald (about Dumbledore's age), and when she was murdered, reportedly by Voldemort, some days prior to Harry's visit to Godric's Hollow, she was extremely old and called "gaga".  How old was she?

Although they are often quaintly old I think their lifespan is about normal. Apart from the two who made the elixir of life (with the philosopher's stone?). I get confused about the relatives too.
