@kanakanani67 For example, in these sentences:
"The struggle between Dark and Light."
"The fight between Dark and Light."
I just can't figure out the difference.
- angielski (amerykański)
The word "struggle" often carries conotations of being frustrating, whereas the word "fight" usually has a more punctual and agressive tone.
NOTES:
To Struggle - verb
To have difficulty with something. i.e "She struggled to get free."
Struggle - noun
A difficult and/or frustrating situation. i.e. "Today was a struggle."
To fight - verb
1) To physically attack in a violent manner. i.e. "I'm going to fight him."
2) To stand up against something (a person, organization, or other). i.e. "We have to fight against racism!"
Fight - noun
1) an event in which two or more people physically attack eachother. i.e. "I have a black eye because I got into a fight."
2) an argument. i.e. "I got into a fight with my mom."
The words are very similar and can ALMOST be used interchangeably. However you would say that you are "struggling" with a project, not "fighting" with it.

"struggle" is more general than "fight".
For example, you can say
"I struggled with the test today."
but you wouldn't say
"I fought with the test today."
because the test isn't fighting back.
You could say
"I fought with the seatbelt." and also
"I struggled with the seatbelt."
because the seatbelt is fighting back.
Generally, you can use "struggle" anywhere you use "fight" as a verb, but not always the other way around.
