Hiya :) I’m posting here because I know the Lithuania section might not get as many attentions as here.
So here’s the thing:
I got an opportunity to finish part of my studies in Kaunas - Lithuania. Growing up I lived in more than seven countries each for a few years due to my parents’ profession. Learning an unknown language and culture is not that alien to me and I know about the art of becoming one with the locals. I can go elsewhere too, but there’s something interesting about your calm country that I’d like to experience. But then I heard that the local Lithuanians might not be that used to seeing foreigners in their streets and one might get stares. Although I don’t mind few stares here and there and I will definitely stare back haha but I’d like to know if me wearing a headscarf and being a brunette is going to affect people’s perception/first impression on me.

Note: My headscarf is part of me being true to my identity. It’s nothing dark and no I do not cover my face. My clothing looks like an average girl from anywhere in this age except that I wear a scarf and cover my hair with a floral piece, mostly.
Sorry for the long question. I sincerely appreciate any replies. Cheers!

I guess that as a student you'll live in campus so you won't get that much stares as students are used to seeing foreigners. Also, not covering your face completely won't make you that different from the others. Though it's true that in Lithuanian cities only minority of people wear scarves on their heads. Nevertheless, starring is usually more common in smaller towns because people know well long-term habitants living there.
