Pytanie o angielski (brytyjski)
My question is about usage of "haven't".
If you had been asked smth like 'Do you have a bike?',
which of these would you choose to answer:
<No, I don't> or <No, I haven't> ?
I think that 'No, I haven't' is better, am I right?

Thank you @ElianaB
do you mean that saying "no, I haven't" you imply "no, I haven't had" which is Present Perfect ?

No, to negate "have," when using it to mean 'to own or be in possession of something', you don't say "have not", you say "do not have."
A: "Do you have any friends?"
B: "No, I don't have any friends"/"No, I don't"
If you're using "have" to mean 'to experience' or when using it to form a tense, then you use "haven't."
A: "Have you been there before?"
B: "No, I haven't."
A: "You've never been overseas, right?"
B: "No, I haven't."
A: "They've changed, haven't they?"
B: "No, they haven't."

@xSummer thanks a lot!
I see, "No, I haven't" is ok when it's a part of Perfect tense, and for possession you say "No, I don't have any ..." or "No, I don't". Simple and clear )
