The past form of willen is wou, wouden or wilde, wilden? If both are correct what is the difference in usage?

The grammatically correct answers are “wilde” and “wilden”. People use “wou” or “wouden” for some reason. If you were to use “wou” or “wouden” no one would find it strange, as some people use it, but for someone who is learning the language, I’d suggest sticking with the grammatically correct “wilde” and “wilden”.
