Hi guys! What is it like to be a part of the LGBTQ+ community in Japan? Are they allowed to get married? And are most of the Japanese people accepting?

Thanks for the tips of The LGBTQ. I haven't heard of any changes to family law in civil law. But I've heard that lesbians and gays issue certificates in some big cities. When I asked the person in charge if we would issue such a certificate in our city, he said that nothing had been decided yet. I think it is an issue for the future whether to recognize such special cases while the population is declining.

Hi,
In some areas in Tokyo, it is allowed to get married to same sex partner, now.

I’ll tell u my opinion below. Plz remember, this is just my opinion. Every Japanese has different perspectives.

Most ppl in Japan don’t hate LGBTQ+ community.

I have never heard any story a gay person got hanged up by sb or things like that.

Most ppl in jpn don’t believe in any specific religion. So we have no reason to hate them.
(They say we r kinda slightly into Buddhism, and Buddhism is not mean to LGBTQ+.)

But i think jpn society don’t fully accept LGBTQ+ community.
I think it’s because they r less acknowledged.
Maybe they shud do bigger pride parades in Tokyo.

There WERE some comedy styles that they mock gay ppl. So old generations have kinda biases against gay ppl.
But they don’t strongly hate, like religious cults in other countries. They just don’t accept.
I guess only if they got educated abt LGBTQ+, they would b nicer.

Nowadays they teach us abt LGBT in some skools. But not Q+. Their education is a bit behind.

Historically and culturally, there r many aspects of same sex love in Jpn.

Some samurai generals performed same sex love, and a famous conservative writer is gay or bi in Japan.

There r many celebrities on TV who came out as LGBTQ+. Google it.
They r on TV everyday.

I witnessed many girls had BL mangas.
