Pytanie o angielski (amerykański)
Is there any (even if it's subtle) difference in meaning between "safer" and "more safe"? Is "more safe" used just for the sake of emphasis?
Eg.: "He felt more safe/safer when he was at university."

- hiszpański (Meksyk) Niemal biegły
The standard comparative is “safer”, but in creative/informal writing, people often use “more safe” to place emphasis on the adjective itself.
He felt safer at uni; he felt more safe at uni.
The second one suggests - in my opinion - a slightly higher degree of safety.
But I would only use “more safe” when speaking informally, it doesn't feel correct (maybe it is? idk haha) 😂
