Co znaczy 「……犯人が頭部を切り落として持ち去ったからだよね。　だから犯人の特定は簡単だよ」 ?

Are they saying it is easy to identify the culprit because they would have the head?

Context:
夕陽 :「アルパカが電波を発しなくなったとしても、　死んだら動けないんだから、　電波が途絶えた所に死体があるよね」
しほん:「それなのに頭部は見つかってないんだよ？」
夕陽 :「だから、それは……あうっ」
想像してちょっと気分が悪くなった。しほんちゃんはこんな話をどうして楽しそうにできるんだろう。
夕陽 :「……犯人が頭部を切り落として持ち去ったからだよね。　だから犯人の特定は簡単だよ」
しほん:「どうして？　誰が持ち去ったかなんてわかんないんじゃない？」
夕陽:「わかるよ。頭を切り落として運ばないといけないんだもん。　月角島さんの電波が消えた場所に、　同じ時間に接近した人が犯人で決まりだよ」
しほん:「犯人がトリックを使っていたらどうするの？」
夕陽:「トリックって、ミステリー小説じゃないんだからさ。　離れた場所から頭部を切断して動かすなんて無理。　もしできたとしても、頭部の近くにいる人が犯人に決まってる」

If I'm understanding this right, 夕陽 is saying the アルパカ (that is the name for a special device in this story) isn't giving off a reception so they should be able to find the dead body where the reception cut out at. But しほん is asking why they don't know where the head is then. 夕陽 then says the criminal must have taken the head with them so therefor it will be easy to identify them?
