Why does when one's asking "Resutoran wa itsu kaiten shimasu ka?" the verb change to "akimasu" for giving the answer? And the same for its opposite, "heiten shimasu ka" turns to "shimarimasu". Please someone explain this to me.

kaiten and heiten can be used to give the answer. Likewise, akimasu and shimarimasu can be used to ask the question. I think both sound natural, but kaiten and heiten may be more formal.

@phraram9 ok, thank you. My book didn't tell me the difference and when I looked at the answers I was confused as to why I had it wrong.
