I believe it's the prefix of a Dutch name such as "van de" or "van" etc. I'm not native but have lived here a few years and when I see that on an application I know that's what it wants.

@Yahya1: It's a word that is part of a last/family name. So if you see the name "Vincent van Gogh", then the word 'van' is the tussenvoegsel which belongs to 'Gogh' (together they make the person's full last name 'Van Gogh') and not to 'Vincent' (which is the person's first name).
